BIG BANG ~ a beginning of Time

  AND TIME BEGINS...

Our universe is the sum of the total of all existence. It is the time, space, matter, and energy in totality that began expanding some 13.8billion years ago has continued to do so ever since. The question of how our universe began had always been controversial. Nowadays, the widely accepted theory of the birth of our universe is "the big bang".

Big bang explains how the universe expanded from an initial state of extremely high density and high temperature. The single super-concentrated point which later became the universe before the big bang was called the "primeval atom" or the "cosmic egg" ~ singularity. After its initial expansion, the universe cooled sufficiently to allow the formation of subatomic particles, and later atoms. Giant clouds of these primordial elements - mostly hydrogen, with some helium and lithium - later coalesced through gravity., forming early stars and galaxies, the descendants of which are visible today.

• Contribution of scientists

           This model was proposed by Russian mathematician Alexander Friedmann and Belgian astronomer Georges Lemaitre during the 1920s.  American physicists Arni Penzias and Robert Wilson discovered the cosmic microwave radiation quite accidentally in 1965.

• Falling temperatures and the afterglow 

           As the universe expanded, it also began to cool down rapidly. the temperature dropped drastically from an extremely hot 5.5 billion degrees. This caused the elementary particles to combine or degrade. Specifically, the protons decayed and the free electrons combined with nuclei. A million years later, this light started passing through the universe. This primary light, or the "afterglow", is known as the COSMIC MICROWAVE BACKGROUND RADIATION (CMBR).

Along with evidence and fact, the scientists haven't yet been able to find any objects predating the Big Bang. Hence, this theory has been accepted only as of now.
